In 2015, a property on Industry Road finally became ours after several attempts to purchase the buildings. After doing some remodeling to one of the buildings, my husband Brett and I, Rhonda, along with our team at BayBrookes Heating & Cooling, moved our business to the new location. For several years I would walk out to the mailbox to get the mail and stare at the other building on the property. I would always feel like it was calling to me, like it would one day be its own business that I would own. I had several discussions with Brett over the next few years about how I really thought I should be starting a business next door, but I honestly had no idea what it would be. He would nicely remind me of how busy we currently were, and that the building was already rented - all was as should be.

In 2017, I met a woman at Steve’s Arboreteum that asked me if I had asthma, and if I had tried a salt room. This was step one in what was yet to come. I decided to make some changes in my life to take care of my health (it becomes too easy in life when we are so busy to put ourselves on the back burner). There was a salt room in Waunakee at the time, so I began going there to help with my asthma and seasonal allergies. It made such a difference for me that Brett asked if it would help with skin conditions because his hands were always cracking. Step two of our journey began when Brett and I were making the time to go to the salt room together 2-3 times a week after work. We proceeded to both see a difference in the health conditions we were working on, and one night on the way home Brett said, “It’s so hard to get over to Waunakee this many times a week, we should just build our own salt room.” All I thought was – yeah, right we have our hands full now, we can’t just build a salt room…..

Step three of our journey began when we stopped making/having the time to get to the salt room because work was so busy, and we were too tired at the end of the day. This was also when our tenant that was renting let us know they would be moving to Florida at the end of the year. We now had both a vacant building and a need for a salt room! From here, all the steps to construct, create, etc were formulated, and we had a game plan to build our own salt room starting at the end of 2017. However, sometimes plans change when things happen that are out of our control.

In the Fall of 2017, Brett was in a home that exploded and resulted in him being put in the UW Hospital Burn unit for 21 days with 25% of his body burned. Talk about being overwhelmed! I found myself doing the best I could to keep our current business flowing, keep my kids from worrying, and keep myself going. I would go into the hospital to see Brett, and there he would be working so hard to get better (he has the absolute best attitude & is known for saying: “Attitude is Everything”). I would get to his room and hear him telling the staff about the salt room we are going to be building. All I could do was smile and agree with him, but on the inside I was thinking, “Dude, I don’t even know how long you will be in the hospital or how much care you are going to need - the last thing I need is another business.” Again, I would only think these things and just be there to support him in those moments. Little did I know at the time, this was a push for him to get better and have something fresh to look forward to.

In 2018, Time For You Healing Center was coming to life. Brett started building our Salt Room, and every single salt brick he put on the wall helped with his healing. We remodeled the whole building to be a space that is calm and welcoming.

The name “Time For You Healing Center” is something that came to me one morning after spending months trying to find the right name. That morning I was shown how this building would be a place that will bring people in when they need to work on their health and healing, and also be a place to bring people together for growth and celebration.

The Salt Room and Infrared Sauna opened on August 3, 2018. Since then, we have helped people with asthma, COPD, allergies, skin conditions, relaxation and more. In 2020, I began bringing in more products, such as crystals, to provide a place locally that people can stop and find something for themselves or to give as a gift.

We are blessed with our loyal customers who have stayed with us through the pandemic, as well as new customers that continue to find us. We look forward to being a part of our community for many years to come, and are excited to continue to expand what we have to offer here in the near future..
